The Uganda Education Service Commission (ESC) has released a list of teachers who passed competence tests for jobs as secondary school deputy headteachers.
The successful candidates are expected to go for oral interviews from mid-April through the end of the month.
“The secretary, Education Service Commission informs applicants for the post of deputy headteacher, secondary who sat for the competence test that the results have been released.
Oral interviews for the successful candidates will be conducted from 15th – 26th April 2024 at the education service commission offices on 1st floor Farmers’ House Parliament Avenue Kampala,” said ESC secretary Dr Asuman Lukwago.
“Shortlisted candidates should appear on the dates and boards as scheduled. Request for rescheduling shall not be accepted. Shortlisted candidates should come along with originals of their employment records plus academic/professional transcripts and certificates and valid identification.”
Dr Lukwago also made it clear that “those whose names do not appear on the shortlist should consider themselves unsuccessful.”
As a way of fighting corruption, the ESC has also emphasized that “services rendered by the education service commission are free of charge.”

Previously, there have been allegations that the Education Service Commission, on which President Yoweri Museveni’s sister Dr Violet Kajubiri is a key member – was selling teaching jobs to unqualified teachers for as low as Shs2m per job. But the ESC dismissed these claims. (See Details Here).
