Nearly 700 teachers and other Ugandans have been confirmed on government jobs as education officers and assistant education officers while others have scooped offers at the Ministry of Education and Sports. A few others have had their requests for study leave approved by the Education Service Commission (ESC).
“The Secretary, Education Service Commission informs Teaching and Non-teaching personnel whose names appear in the lists below that they have been CONFIRMED IN SERVICE WHILE SOME, WERE GRANTED STUDY LEAVE. The concerned personnel are requested to contact the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports for issuance of relevant letters,” reads a notice by acting ESC secretary Mohammed Kaaya.

It should be remembered that the Education Service Commission, where President Yoweri Museveni’s sister Dr Violet Kajubiri is a member – has previously been accused of selling teaching jobs to unqualified teachers for as low as Shs2m per job. (See Details Here).
