LIST: See Names of 1600 Teachers Whose Appointment Letters are Ready for Picking Starting Today after they Landed Government Payroll Jobs

Nearly 1,600 newly appointed teachers will start picking their appointment letters from Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports today after they landed government payroll jobs.

The appointment letters are ready for picking starting December 20, 2023, and ending on December 29, 2023, according to the ministry permanent secretary Ketty Lamaro.

Each appointed teacher is expected to pick their letter from the registry room on the fourth floor at the ministry’s headquarters on Embassy House in Kampala on respective days.

Those picking their appointment letters are expected to come with their national identity cards (IDs) and copies of notification letters.

They are also expected to present letters of acceptance, a public service medical examination form fully endorsed by a government medical officer, IPPS data collection form and an Education Service Commission (ESC) form.

It is these documents the ministry will base on to issue deployment or posting instructions starting January 08, 2024.

PS Lamaro made it clear to the teachers that in line with Public Service Standing Orders, 2021, the Ministry of Education and Sports will deploy teachers in any part of Uganda through normal posting instructions.

Here is the list of teachers whose appointment letters are ready for picking.

Meanwhile, the Education Service Commission has been on the spot for selling each teaching job for as low as Shs2m, claims the commission denies. The ESC also struggles with ghost teachers eating tax payers’ money without working for it. Months ago, government carried out a validation exercise to weed ghosts off the payroll.
