The Judicial Service Commission (JSC), the appointment arm of the Judiciary, has appointed 35 acting chief magistrates.
The new chief magistrates will serve in acting capacity for a year before their appointments are approved.
The new appointments put the number to 74, as government seeks to have a chief magistrate at every Ugandan district, according to Maria Teresa Nabulya, the JSC communications officer.
