Learn to use your brains, not insults: Muhammad Nsereko blasts Bobi Wine’s NUP after court ordered principal’s brother Nyanzi to pay him millions

Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko has told off Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters and leaders for using insults instead of brains after Mengo Court ordered the principal’s brother Fred Ssentamu Nyanzi to pay his political rival Shs38.5m in compensation.

Mengo Court magistrate Esther Nansambu made the order after Nyanzi’s petition for nullification of Kampala Central parliamentary poll results, orders for recounts and/or fresh election collapsed.

Nyanzi had accused polling officials of aiding Nsereko to cheat him, excluding results from some polling stations and tampering with declaration of results forms in others.

Nyanzi had hoped to close the margin of 1,023 votes between him and Nsereko.

But magistrate Nansambu threw out his petition on grounds that the NUP leader’s elder brother had filed his petition in a court that had no jurisdiction.

Even in the High Court where he was referred, Nyanzi has been facing challenges trying to serve Nsereko with suit papers.

After Mengo Magistrate’s Court made the order for Nsereko’s compensation, the MP blasted NUP leaders and supporters for engaging in insults instead of using their brains.

“Justice is finally served. Court in Mengo has ruled that Nyanzi has to pay me costs of only Shs38.5m. Even if it’s small, I will oblige,” wrote Nsereko.

“Thank you, almighty God, for always fighting our battles. They use insults, we use brains.”
