Leaked Salim Saleh’s Gulu List of ‘Greedy’ Begging Super Stars

A list detailing how much members of Singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone’s Uganda Superstars Musicians Association want from President Yoweri Museveni’s younger brother Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh has left Ugandans cursing.

Gen Saleh is the coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).

The leaked list was part of the ‘begging’ document Chameleone handed to Gen Saleh in Gulu recently.

Chameleone, a flipflopping politician that has been Museveni’s NRM, Bobi Wine’s NUP and Norbert Mao’s DP, led a section of singers to the northern Uganda city of Gulu to ‘beg’ from Salim Saleh weeks ago.

A veteran singer, Chameleone formed the United Uganda Music Superstars Association in June 2021.

Weeks later, he used it as a vehicle to beg for Shs9.4bn for a handful of singers, most of them singing in only one of Uganda’s languages.

The list has 26 singers, each demanding hundreds of millions. Some artistes on the list are: Chameleone (Shs800m), Pallaso (Shs821m), David Lutalo (Shs420m), Bebe Cool (Shs670m), Winnie Nwagi (Shs380m) and Azawi (Shs250m).

He called the money he begged from the general a “stimulus package.”

“Its our request that this issue is addressed with urgent concern to save the Uganda Music Industry for our members are crucial stakeholders,” Chameleone wrote to Saleh.
