LAST WORDS, MOMENTS
Now, those who were with the speaker before he died have revealed some of his last moments.
For example, Deputy Speaker Anita Among recalls Oulanyah telling her what he missed.
“I miss putting on my bow tie. I miss putting on my suit. And I miss going through the rules of procedure,” Among quoted Oulanyah as telling her on his hospital bed in the US.
According to health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, who looked after Oulanyah and saw him before his demise, says that in his last days on earth, the speaker “couldn’t talk.”
“He could open his eyes and cry,” narrated Aceng during a vigil at Oulanyah’s Muyenga home.
“I prayed with him. He could nod, and I understood that meant Amen.”
