Speaker of Parliament and Bukedea District Woman MP Anita Annet Magogo has set the bar so high for women in Uganda as far as love, marriage and relationships are concerned. After gifting her husband, Budiope East MP and Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) president Moses Magogo Hassim, with a car on his birthday, it is now clear that it is okay and normal for women to give their husbands gifts they can afford — and they will not die if they do so.
Speaker Among’s husband and fellow MP Magogo was today celebrating his birthday. The head of the legislative arm of government began by penning a sweet message for her man. Titled ‘happiest birthday, my love’ and signed off as ‘Yours Anita Annet Among Magogo.’
“Happiest Birthday My Love. To my Loving Husband and Friend who never ceases to amaze me; Thank you for being such a wonderful Friend, best Companion and a Life Partner. May the Almighty fill you this day and the following years ahead with overflowing Joy, Happiness and His Blessings of good Health, great Wisdom and endless Abilities to serve our peoples and this Beautiful Country. Yours, Anita Annet Among Magogo,” read Anita Among’s message.
Hours later, Anita Among’s emissaries delivered a Range Rover Vogue 2022 to Magogo as a birthday gift from the speaker. The messengers, MPs, made sure the vehicle was delivered to Magogo at the Fufa head office in Mengo in the capital Kampala, throwing Magogo into excitement at the surprise gift.
A few months ago, the registration of the marriage between Speaker Anita Among and Moses Magogo nearly ended in tears. But the government official who was tormenting the powerful couple was reportedly fired, and URSB declared that the marriage registration still stands and that the government official who had cancelled it had no powers to do so, sending Anita Among and Moses Magogo into tears of joy.
