Koowe/ Kisembo and Kisadha/Mwami pairing advance to the Stanbic MatchPlay Challenge Finals

The semi-finals of the 2024 Stanbic MatchPlay Challenge, featuring four pairings, were held at the lakeside par-71 Entebbe Golf club over the weekend in ideal sunny conditions.

Lillian Koowe and Joyce Kisembo’s fairytale run continued as they won their match 4/3. The two defeated Walter Tukahiirwa and Lambert Tumwesigye.

“It was a great match. Our team chemistry has continued to improve thanks to the training sessions we have had over the past weeks,” said Koowe.

Meanwhile, in the second match, Tony Kisadha and Richard Mwami combined to overcome 2/1 Emmanuel Lwanga and Vincent Assimwe.

The finals between Koowe/Kisembo and Kisadha/Mwami will take place on Saturday, 12th October 2024.

There was also exciting action in the subsidiary category with the golfers in the various handicap groups winning different prizes. Teenager Shaka Karisa won group A men and Denis Kahinde took group B.

For the ladies; Sarah Nduhukire playing off handicap 18 amassed 35 points to win group A over Berna Musanaberna (H/C 11) with 34 points.

The ladies’ Group B was won by Ruth Akello with 43 points, playing off handicap 34.

At the grand finale, there will be air tickets, trophies and other prizes at stake.

The Stanbic MatchPlay Challenge is headlined by Stanbic Bank Uganda as the main sponsors.
