First Lady and Education Minister Janet Kataaha Kainembabazi Museveni has spoken out on the allegations of sodomy at King’s College Budo, as well as promotion of homosexuality in the country’s schools.
The minister was at the school to commission Grace Dormitory. In her remarks, she said her ministry was already investigating claims that a teacher had sodomized a Senior Six Student at the top school.
Janet Museveni said government would use evidence from the probe to “hold those responsible accountable so as to bring an end to these vices and to deliver justice to the affected learners.”
It is disturbing that the media should be awash with shocking sexual practices amongst students which in some incidences are said to be permitted to go on unabetted by the teachers and the headteachers. God forbid!
As faithful stewards you cannot allow these vices to go on in the beautiful schools like King’s College Budo
The Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira noted that King’s College Budo is a church-owned school which should adhere to biblical principles, truths and teachings of the Church of Uganda (CoU).
“We request that the findings of the police inquiry are released soon so that the country gets to know [the people] who are behind these acts.”
It should be remembered that there were allegations that a male teacher at King’s College Budo reportedly sodomized a male student. There were also claims that another school, Vienna College Namugongo, allowed same-sex coupling among students. (Read Stories Here and There).
Meanwhile, the Anglican Church of Uganda has broken away from the Church of England after Canterbury allowed same-sex marriage weddings. (See Details Here).
