Gloria Ssenyonga, the mother of beheaded Masaka girl Faith Kyamagero, says suspected killer Joseph Nuwashaba had threatened the family.

On September 14, Parliament’s security intercepted Nuwashaba, 22, with the head of a five-year old, wrapped as a gift to Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga. (Read Story Here).

DNA tests carried out on the head and the torso left in Kijabweni in Masaka proved a connection between the two body parts. (Read Story Here)

According to Ssenyonga, Nuwashaba, who hails from Kizinda in Ishaka-Bushenyi Municipality, had stayed with the family since the Covid19 lockdown started.

She says the youthful man had threatened to harm them. But the Ssenyongas had, regrettably, brushed off the threats.

“Recently, Nuwashaba was upset by the children, and he said he would one day do something horrible to the family to teach them a lesson,” Ssenyonga told reporters in Masaka.

He had also changed after breaking his savings box and buying a mobile phone that he allowed no family member to touch.

And while Ssenyonga was away visiting relatives in Mbarara, Nuwashaba beheaded Kyamagero and took away with her head.

When they told her her daughter was missing, she remembered how Nuwashaba had threatened to do something bad to the family.

It was now too late.
