Buganda Kingdom prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has spoken out on the health of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, and explained the king’s trip to Nairobi, Kenya.
The kabaka has been out of the country for about 10 days.
He travelled to Nairobi on the eve of Masaza Cup final where Gomba beat Buddu 3-1 to win the tournament.
While many expected the king to return soon, the Kabaka is yet to return home.
This has sparked off some rumors about the king’s health.
About 10 days ago, Katikkiro Mayiga said the kabaka had rushed to Kenya to meet some partners.
But on March 15, Mayiga sought to assure the kabaka’s subjects that their king was in good health.
“The Kabaka is alive and still reigning,” Mayiga told the Buganda Lukiiko on Monday.
He added that during his Kenyan trip, the king checked on Namasole Margaret Siwoza who is admitted in a Nairobi hospital.
