Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has told the people of Busoga that junior minister in charge of Karamoja affairs Moses Kizige’s lies against her were exposed when President Yoweri Museveni invited leaders from the sub-region to State House.
Kadaga described Kizige as one of the leaders who “fighting me and purveying false information to President Museveni.”
She says that Kizige had compiled lies in a seven-page document and sent them to President Museveni.
Appearing on Kamuli Broadcasting Services radio, the Kamuli Woman MP revealed that “recently, the President summoned me to State House and availed me a seven-page document, authored by Kizige, cataloging several falsehoods about me.”
“Fortunately, the President summoned Kizige and several other leaders from Busoga to attend the meeting.”
The speaker further told listeners that Kizige had failed to substantiate his claims when the president invited him to face Kadaga.
“I disproved the litany of lies. Some of the leaders in attendance, such as Minister for the Presidency, Esther Mbayo, disagreed with the allegations,” Kadaga went on.
“The author had not expected the President to show me the letter. Instead of succouring development for our sub region, some colleagues are engaged in such acts!”
As the 2021 election process gets heated, Kadaga has in recent months blasted her ‘enemies.’
She has already won one of three vital elections as she seeks to retain the speaker of parliament job — and remain the country’s number three in hierarchy.
In August, Kadaga beat junior minister lands minister Persis Namuganza in the race for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) second national vice chairperson.
NRM CEC Results: Here are winners and losers
Kadaga blasted government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa for backing her rival Namuganza, with whom she had clashed over Bukono chiefdom matters.
On August 04, the speaker will seek NRM flag for the Kamuli Woman MP seat.
If she wins the party’s ticket, she will face off with opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) strong woman Proscovia Salaamu Musumba in the 2021 poll.
