Kadaga ‘in Tears’ Over Jacob Oulanyah’s Death

Former Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has mourned the passing of her successor Jacob Oulanyah. 

A few hours ago, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni announced that Speaker Oulanyah has died. (Read Story Here).

Kadaga, now a deputy prime minister, said the government, NRM party and country had lost a key leader.

“At this trying moment, I send sincere condolences to the children, the mother and other members of Rt Hon Oulanyah’s family as well as friends and relatives,” wrote Kadaga.

“The NRM party, the Parliament and the Country have lost a key leader. Condolences to HE the President.”

In 2021, Oulanyah defeated Kadaga to become speaker of the 11th Parliament. (Read Story Here).
