Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has told elders at Butikkiro in Mengo that Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi will “very soon” address Baganda in Chicago, US.
In a meeting clan of elders in Kampala, Katikkiro Mayiga noted that the Kabaka’s health condition had improved.
“The Kabaka is in good condition and very soon he will address Ugandans in Chicago, US, under their umbrella association of Buganda Bumu,” Mayiga told the elders.
This publication has since learnt that the Kabaka will address the conference through virtual means and won’t be flying to the US.
Katikkiro Mayiga further insisted there was no need of the king flying abroad for specialized treatment since his medical team was yet to recommend so.
He further described as ‘ignorant’ people dismissing expert reports that the kabaka was suffering from allergies.

“The Kabaka is suffering from allergies although many people don’t believe this out of ignorance,” said Katikkiro Mayiga.
“When doctors recommend that Kabaka requires specialized treatment abroad, automatically, he shall go. But as long as they can manage the situation, he will be treated here.”
There have been calls by Kingdom subjects for the Kabaka to be flown abroad for treatment.
