City Socialite Charles Olim aka Sipapa has further been remanded to Luzira Prison until next month.
This Monday, September 19 morning, Sipapa and his girlfriend Shamira Rukia Nakiyemba appeared before Makindye Magistrate Court on charges of aggravated robbery.
The robbery relates to an incident at the home of a South Sudanese home in which thugs broke and took off with thousands of dollars and valuables such as mobile phones.
Police would employ technology to link Sipapa to the robbery and consequently arrest him and his wife at the start of this month.
Following their arrest, the Sipapas were arraigned before the Makindye Court before being remanded to Luzira until today when they return for mention of their case.
Today, Grade One Magistrate Esther Adikin further remanded Sipapa (a man who was once pictured rubbing shoulders with Uganda’s president Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni), and Nakiyemba to Luzira Prison until next month.
This was after state attorney Hope Rukundo told court that investigations into the matter were still ongoing.
The accused will return to the temple of Justice on October 10, 2022 (which will be a day after Uganda’s 60th independence anniversary).
It should be remembered that Sipapa, a man who has been known for spending big in the city and for showing off his wealth, has also been connected to more than 10 robberies. (Read Story Here).
