Nigerian singer Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman aka Oxlade has revealed why he refused to perform during last night’s flopped show headlined by Jamaican dancehall star Anthony Moses Davis, popularly known as Beenie Man. The show was held at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
But although Oxlade was said to be in the country, the 25-year-old refused to perform during the show. While some people had claimed that he declined to perform because it was attended by fewer people than expected, Oxlade has come out to give his reasons.
Oxlade has blamed the promoters of the show, saying they need to go back to school and learn how to up their game. The show was organized by Top Boy Entertainment Ug. Oxlade accused Top Boy Entertainment Ug of refusing to fulfill their part of the bargain despite signing an agreement with him.
Revealing that Top Boy Entertainment Ug boss known as Michael refused to pay him his due, Oxlade tasked him to offer a comprehensive explanation to Ugandans or else he could spill more beans. From Oxlade’s statement, it seems there is more that went wrong behind the scenes (or rather sins) that is yet to come out.
“Promoters need to learn to do the right thing when booking artists… you invite an artist to come perform at your event, you were given a booking agreement which you duly signed. Then you refused to honor your own part of the contract and refuse to pay me as at when due…” explained Oxlade.
“Michael of top boy entertainment Ug, you owe Ugandan people an explanation as to why I did not perform last night! I would love to go into details of what happened… Even after you knowingly canceled my return flight back to Nigeria and to my Ugandan fanmily I definitely hope to give you guys a show soon!”
