A son of a former minister in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government has passed on, his family has reported this Monday, October 24 morning.
Jakana Nadduli was a son to former minister Abdul Nadduli, a veteran politician from Luweero.
Jakana was a candidate in the 2021 parloamentary elections. He contested in the Nakaseke Central MP poll but lost.
He was later arrested and charged with with promoting sectarianism contrary to Section 41 of the Penal Code Act. But he was granted bail and released from prison.
Manin opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya said that Jakana was found dead at his home. The NUP SG added that he had had a conversation with Nadduli whou sounded fine at the weekend.
“We’ve woken up to the terrible news of the untimely passing of our brother Jakaana Nadduli. The family says he was found dead at his home, a few days after he was released from prison,” wrote Rubongoya.
“I spoke to him Saturday and he sounded fine. Terrible news. Inna lillahi wa inallah-e-raji’oon.”
It should be remembered that Jakana had pleaded guilty to the charges of promoting sectarianism but later spoke in tongues, made a U-turn and changed his words, swallowing the ones he had made earlier. (Read Story Here).
