Controversial academic, politician and writer Dr Stella Nyanzi has been involved in an accident outside Uganda.
Dr Nyanzi, who has been in Germany for many months following her unsuccessful bid for Kampala Woman MP, had come to Kenya for a road poetry trip.
She had some friends and fellow writers when the accident happened.
Nyanzi and her colleagues we’re headed to Nakuru when the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into another one.
The incident took place at a place called Lari.
Consequently, there was a string of crash-ins, with Nyanzi’s vehicle sandwiched somewhere in the middle.
“After enjoying the amazing view of the Rift Valley on our way to Nakuru, our vehicle was involved in a five-ways traffic collision on the highway at Lari,” an update posted on Nyanzi’s social media account read.
“We crashed into a car that had crashed into another car that had knocked a car off the highway. The car behind us also crashed into our car.”
Nyanzi has since confirmed that no life was lost in the accident that disrupted her poetry road trip, a journey she described as having been “full of adventure.”
“Thankfully we are all alive and well,” her update further read.
