Another Resident District Commissioner (RDC) in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government has passed on in a period of half a month.
Suleiman Barasa Ogajo, the RDC for Namayingo District Local Government, was pronounced dead today, August 16, morning.
RDC Barasa had been admitted to Mulago National Referral Hospital for days until he breathed his last today.
Presidency Minister Milly Babirye Babalanda, whose ministry is in charge of RDCs and their deputies, eulogized Barasa as “a respected opinion leader.”
“I regret to announce the death of Mzee Barasa Ogajo Suleiman – RDC Namayingo, who has passed on today at Mulago. He was a respected opinion leader who contributed greatly in the struggle for a free Uganda. Our prayers are with family and friends. Inalillahi wainailaihi rajiun,” wrote Minister Babalanda.
Minister Babalanda was one of the government officials who had visited RDC Ogajo in hospital as he fought for his life.
Ogajo previously worked as Resident Commissioner for Mbale, among other assignments.
Barasa was reappointed RDC in a reshuffle that saw many dropped. (See Full List of RDCs Here).
