BANK OF UGANDA JOBS: Uganda’s central bank has announced it will hire 40 banking officers (Banking Officer II). The jobs will go to 40 fresh graduates who will not be above the age of 26 by April 02, 2024 – deadline for receiving application letters.

The entry level jobs or positions are in the various departments of Bank of Uganda (BoU). This is why the central bank will welcome applications from qualified Ugandans from a number of fields.

These fields include: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Library and Information Science, Human Resource, Statistics, Procurement, Public Relations, Law and other related disciplines.

BoU wants law degree applicants to show proof of a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

The central bank also wants applicants to have a first class degree or an upper second class degree from recognized universities.

The central bank prefers candidates who are analytical, pay attention to detail, thrive under teamwork, have interpersonal skills, high level of integrity, and are transparent. The candidates should also have skills in problem solving, written and  verbal communication as well as accuracy and innovativeness.

Besides application letters, BoU expects a copy of the National Identity Card (Front and Back), as well as a detailed Curriculum Vitae.

“Applicants MUST use the standard BoU Curriculum Vitae form as their Curriculum Vitae format which is available under Careers in BoU on the BoU website https://www. bou.or.ug/bouwebsite/Careers/. Candidates that use a Curriculum Vitae Format other than the standard BoU Curriculum Vitae format shall be disqualified,” explained the central bank in its advert.

The central bank also expects candidates to present copies of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) certificates, certified academic credentials, transcripts, and professional training certificates.

On submission of applications, BoU wants applicants to hand deliver their letters and all documebts to the Bank of Uganda Headquarters, Plot 37/45 Kampala Road clearly marked ‘Application for the Position of Banking Officer II).’

BoU has advised applicants to address their applications to the Director, Human Resources Department, Bank of Uganda.  P. O. Box 7120, Kampala.

The central bank has promised generous and attractive salaries and benefits for the positions.

It also warned against falsification of papers.

“Management reserves the right to terminate applicants found with concealed or falsified information and academic credentials. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Applications should reach NOT later than Tuesday April 2, 2024.”
