Joyce Ssebugwawo is an angel who has joined Satan, says FDC top official after Museveni appointed her minister

by Pearl Times Reporter
June 9, 2021

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) deputy secretary general has likened party vice president Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo’s decision to accept an appointment as President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s junior (state) minister for Information, Communications Technology (ICT) and National Guidance as an angel joining Satan.

Top FDC leaders are yet to recover from the shock that followed the announcement of Museveni’s new cabinet list.

FULL CABINET LIST: Jessica Alupo Vice President, Robinah Nabbanja Prime Minister, Kadaga Deputy PM, Rugunda Special Envoy

The list included Ssebugwawo, who was FDC acting president when Patrick Oboi Amuriat was seeking the party’s flag for the 2021 election.

But after she lost the Rubaga Mayoral seat, Ssebugwawo seems to have chosen to accept a ministerial apppointment to avoid being in the political cold for five years.

The party is reportedly expected to hold a crisis meeting before issuing a statement.

Deputy secretary general for administration Kaija says he is yet to welcome Ssebugwawo’s appointment.

“Dear Colleagues disregard the propaganda being circulated that I welcomed the appointment of Owek Joyce Nabbosa Ssebuggwawo in M7’s Cabinet,” Kaija said.

“I have refused to address the matter with any media person. It’s false and intended to blackmail me and the FDC as a party.”

He made it clear he “can never be happy when an Angel joins Satan.”
