It was all joy, celebration and dancing as Hon Genensio Tumuramye, the former Kashongi County MP, donated a total of 13 communal saucepans to the people he once represented. See
Tumuramye said he wanted to help the people of Kashongi in conducting their functions such as weddings and funerals find saucepans instead of having to hire.
The donated saucepans were worth Shs15m.
All the parishes in Kashongi County will benefit from the donation from the generous politician.
Speaking at the event to hand over the saucepans to both local leaders and all members of the general public, Tumuramye explained that he made the donation out of love.
He encouraged the locals to make use of the donated saucepans.
Tumuramye also made it clear that the saucepans should be used by everyone, including those who supported him in the 2021 elections and those who supported his opponents.
Said to be plotting to contest in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries, with the goal of ejecting the incumbent Herbert Tayebwa out of Parliament, Tumuramye also called for unity among the people of Kashongi in Kiruhura District, where Ugandan President Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni hails from.
He also promised to donate more saucepans and other items to the people of Kashongi in coming weeks and months.
The election season in the country is beginning to take shape after the Electoral Commission (EC) announced a roadmap for the 2026 polls, during which Uganda has some chances of electing a Museveni successor or giving the old man from Rwakitura another five years at the helm. (See Details Here).
