NTV Uganda news manager Josephine Karungi is said to be on her way out of the Serena-based media station after landing a job at the World Bank as a consultant.
Karungi, who has grown through the ranks to rise to the news manager job, has held the top newsroom job in acting capacity since 2018.
She replaced Maurice Mugisha who left to work as deputy managing director for state broadcaster UBC, a stone-throw away from NTV Uganda offices.
A source who works under Karungi revealed that the news manager was quitting her job for a juicier one at the World Bank where she will serve as a communications consultant.
The station’s management is reportedly considering replacing Karungi with one of the senior editors.
