Joe Biden Endorses Vice President Kamala Harris as Democratic Presidential Nominee to ‘Beat Trump’

US President Joe Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat nominee for the November 2024 race after he dropped out following days of pressure from fellow democrats to quit the race.

While top democrats felt Biden was not fit to defeat former president Donald Trump following the first presidential debate, incumbent Biden feels his vice president has all it takes to outshine the Republican.

Biden said choosing Kamala Harris as his vice president in 2020 was “the best decision,” before pledging support for her, and rallying Democrats “to come together and beat Trump” in November 2024.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made,” wrote Trump.

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”

But Kamala Harris will have to seek the blessing of delegates at the Democratic National Convention that begins in Chicago on August 19. She will battle it out with other democrats interested in the ticket to face Donald Trump.

If she win her party’s endorsement next month and goes ahead to beat Trump in November 2024, Kamala Harris – the US’ first female vice president – will make some more history, becoming the first US female president.

But if she loses, she will be the second female Democrat Trump will have beaten to the most powerful job in the world. Trump defeated former first lady and ex-secretary of state Hillary Clinton in the 2020 presidential election.
