JOBS ALERT: 1000 More Government Jobs Up for Grabs; See How to Apply

Uganda Police Force (UPF), under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has announced 1,000 vacancies Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandan citizens to join the Uganda Police Force.

For the post of Probationer Police Constable, police will be recruiting 850 people between the age of 18 and 23. Successful applicants will be paid under the salary scale UG Scale-U7.

Eligible candidates must be Ugandan citizen with valid National ID Identification Numbers (NIN), must have no criminal record, must possess a UCE certificate or its equivalent obtained not earlier than 2019 with at least four credits including English and Mathematics, should be ready to undertake the requisite twelve (12) months of Police basic Training, must be physically and medically fit, and ready to work for long hours and at times under difficult conditions.

They must also be ready to work in any part of the country, possess good communication skills, and must not be a former or serving officer in any of the Forces.

The key outputs for the Probationer Police Constable job are: to enforce law and order, to protect life and property, to preserve law and order, to prevent and detect crime, and undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

For the Probationer Police Constable (Driver), the key outputs will be vehicle maintenance, safely transport personnel and supplies, and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Eligible candidates for the Probationer Police Constable (Driver) must be a Ugandan citizen with a Probationer Police Constable (Driver) job must have a valid National ID (NIN), must have no criminal record, must possess a UCE certificate or its equivalent and for be ready to undertake a 12-month training.

In a notice issued by AIGP Jesse Kamunanwire on behalf of police chief IGP Martins Okoth Ochola, those interested in the jobs must hand in their hand written applications to the Police District/ Divisional Headquarters not later than June 18, 2022.

The applications should be addressed to the IGP accompanied by certified copies of academic documents, photocopy of the National ID, ID of the previous schools attended, three (3) recent passport size photographs and recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII and RDC (from the respective districts of recruitment).

AIGP Kamunanwire has informed the applicants that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews on dates to be communicated.

He has warned against impersonation and presentation of any forged testimonials or any other forged documents, saying these will lead to arrest and prosecution in courts of law.

“Appointment into the Uganda Police Force is after completion of the Police Initial Training,” he added. “Female candidates are encouraged to apply.”

Meanwhile, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has postponed its recruitment exercise. “The management of Uganda Wildlife Authority would like to inform the general public that the ranger recruitment exercise that had been scheduled for 8thJune 2022 has been postponed to a date to be communicated in the due course,” the conservation agency said in a statement.
