Speaking during the release of the 2020 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) at State House Nakasero on July 30, Ms Museveni talked of a reopening that put in consideration vaccination of all learners.
“The reopening will come, for sure, but we have to look at how we should open. We can’t be opening all at ago,” said the minister.
“When you find your own segment of school is not in the very first one, please have the patience.”
She added: “I want you to know that we are considering the sequencing of reopening of schools which is realistic as Government finds the vaccines required for all our learners.”
The first lady also urged Ugandans to “trust your Government, and know that we are trying to do everything possible to protect our people from this enemy of Covid19.”
She further revealed that the phased reopening of schools, which was disrupted by the June 18 declaration of a new Covid19 lockdown was “constantly in our discussion as Government.”
“We try as much as possible to include all our concerns; what will ensure learning for all, and also good health for all in this very difficult season of the Covid19 pandemic.”
