Deputy speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah is expected to speak out on attacks by his boss Rebecca Kadaga when he appears for NBS Television’s Thursday night Frontline show.
The Naguru-based station says its flagship show host Joseph Sabiti will host Oulanyah to discuss the ‘Evolution of Democracy in East Africa’ and ‘Magufuli’s leadership style.’
Also on the panel will be Panafricanist PLO Lumumba.
Although the issue of the speaker race is not on the night show’s main agenda, hosts are known to ask guests to comment on matters they are involved in.
In any case, the speaker race is a ‘democratic’ process worth addressing on the show on which one of the main candidates is a guess.
For now, viewer expectations that Oulanyah could respond to Kadaga’s attacks are very high — at least judging by how the show media hype, with #NBSFrontline already trending.
Of course, the other factor for the trend could be audience puller Lumumba’s appearance on the show.
If granted a chance to respond to his nemesis’ attacks, Oulanyah could either choose to downplay the speaker’s claims as not worthy of his response or could shred Kadaga’s allegations.
During the launch of her campaign at Speke Resort Munyonyo on March 24, Kadaga claimed Oulanyah had failed to steer the House during the age limit debate.
She also claimed her deputy had chosen foreign trips over chairing parliamentary sessions.
