IT’S NOT YET OVER! Ex-Uganda Airlines Board Boss ‘Destroys’ CEO Bamuturaki, Exposes Her ‘Dirty’ Performance Secrets Before COSASE

A former chairperson of the Board of Directors of Uganda Airlines has revealed dirty secrets regarding the competence and performance of the national carrier’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jennifer Bamuturaki Musiime.

Perez Ahabwe, who was knifed months ago, appeared before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee on Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (Cosase) which is chaired by Nakawa West MP and National Unity Platform (NUP) spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi.

A new board to replace the one which was led by Ahabwe, a former State Minister for Local Government, was inaugurated in April 2022. The board includes Priscilla Mirembe Serukka, who is the Chairperson of the Board, Samson Rwahwire, Herbert Kamuntu, Patrick Ocailap, Barbara Namugambe, Abdi Karim Moding, and Ebrahim Kisoro Sadrudin.

The former Uganda Airlines Board chairperson claimed that his exit from the national carrier’s board was occasioned by the appointment of Bamuturaki as the CEO.

Ahabwe told the committee that he believed that Bamuturaki’s appointment was irregular.

He revealed that even before her appointment as CEO, Bamuturaki was already known to be incompetent in the eyes of the members of board.

In fact, Ahabwe said the Uganda Airlines Board had unanimously declared Bamuturaki as incompetent.

The former board boss went on to tell Ssenyonyi’s Cosase committee that even before she was elevated to the position of the Uganda Airlines CEO, Bamuturaki had failed a performance appraisal for the position of Director in charge of Commercial Affairs.

Ahabwe further told Cosase members that the board members were not only reportedly concerned about Bamuturaki’s alleged incompetence but also knew that she was “insubordinate” and that she was allegedly involved in financial impropriety.”

Cosase has been investigating Bamuturaki’s irregular appointment as CEO. During the investigations, it emerged that Bamuturaki did not have the required academic qualifications, did not have an O-level certificate, and failed to present her SWASA transcript from Makerere University years after she graduated — yet Museveni gave her a job for which she earns nearly Shs100m. When he appeared before Cosase, Transport and Works Minister Gen Katumba Wamala said he did not stop Bamuturaki’s appointment because it was an order from above. (Read Story Here).
