Events promoter Balaam Barugahara says he was not involved in planning President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s sixth term swearing-in ceremony where US ambassador Natalie Brown and other envoys were seen seated in plastic chairs, something some say was humiliating.

Now Balaam says all the blame should go to Digida Events who won the contract for organizing the inauguration ceremony.

He says the humiliation of envoys is regrettable, and events managers should learn from what happened to do better next time.

“I want to make it clear I was not involved in Kololo Event planning or sound provision . Whatever happened I have nothing to do with it. The event was managed by Digida Events,” Balaam defended himself.

“However this should be a key learning experience we should plan well next time this humiliation to our Great important invited Guests shouldn’t happen again. A nice VIP chair hire costs 3000shs from Fotegenix, a sit cover hire cost is 350shs.”

He added: “Apologies to all the humiliated Guests on behalf of all Ugandans.”
