President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s ruling NRM picked Ojok as its sole candidate.

But there are other candidates in the race, including FDC’s Denis Owani and NUP’s Simon Tolit.

In a recent interview with state broadcaster UBC, Ojok said he was not the best candidate to replace his father.

“I cannot say that I am the best candidate,” said Ojok.

Oulanyah’s son also admitted that his interest in the Omoro seat is problematic “because it looks like I was waiting for someone to pass on.”

The EC will carry out nominations for the Omoro by-election on May 12 and May 13 before campaigns begin on May 16 through May 24.
