Opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) Deputy President Lina Zedriga has claimed that ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman and Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni sent agents begging her to leave Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Zedriga claimed that she held a meeting with agents sent by President Museveni at Cafe Javas, City Oil in Kamwokya Kampala in September 2020.
According to the NUP leader, the agents had promise to secure Shs5bn for her if she agreed to leave NUP and join Museveni’s NRM.
She went on to allege that the agents would later promise to double the prize if she accepted to betray Bobi Wine.
The other promises included a fat State House job and a vehicle.
“I wish it were a lie that NRM approached me with money to join them. I wish it were a dream. But it happened at Cafe Javas City Oil in Kamwokya in September 2020,” she told Nxt Big Talk.
“They promised me Shs5 billion that would rise to Shs10 billion. I was promised a car and a job in the President’s office.”
But for the love of NUP, Zedriga says she refused to be bought.
“I was offered Shs5 billion to leave NUP and join NRM. I declined because what we owe the new Uganda is priceless!” she claimed.
