Uganda Cranes hopes of the third successive AFCON might have come to the end after losing to Malawi on Monday.
The cranes who came into the game at Kamuzu stadium in Blantyre Malawi lost to the hosts by a goal to Neal. The hosts will then cruise to AFCON 2021 which will be held in Cameroon.
Richard Mbulu put the hosts ahead in the 15 minute after meeting his team mates cross from the right hand side which left Cranes Goal keeper Denis Onyango stranded.
The Interim Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru’s however was affected by injuries and travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cranes strikers Patrick Kaddu failed to recover from the hamstring injury he picked against Burkina Faso in Kampala last Thursday . Fahad Bayo and his Israel club counter part Timothy Awanyi were restricted to travel to Malawi since it is one of the countries considered to be Covid-19 hotspot.
Burkina Faso and Malawi are through in group B.
