The Anglican Bishop of West Ankole Diocese Johnson Twinomujuni has been airlifted to Nakasero Hospital in the capital Kampala, reports indicate. Bishop Twinomujuni, who was installed as West Ankole Bishop in 2017, was reportedly admitted in Nakasero Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.
The distance between Kampala and Bushenyi is a little over 320km and it would take nearly six hours to cover the distance. It was for this reason that government liaised with key security organs and helped airlift the ailing man of God to save his life.
The Bishop, who basically whose diocese basically covers Greater Bushenyi – from which the districts of Buhweju, Sheema, Mitooma and Rubirizi were carved years ago – is said to be suffering from hypertension. Other sources from the diocese said he had complained of stomach complications.
Bishop Twinomujuni is a vocal man of God whose work has been felt in the Diocese. Some of his sermons are warnings of Christians against false prophets. The fourth Bishop of West Ankole Diocese, he replaced Yona Mwesigwa Katooneene.
We wish Bishop Twinomujuni a quick recovery.
