National female youth MP and incoming Soroti Woman MP Anna Ebaju Adeke has accused a colleague of inappropriately touching her breasts during a foreign trip.
Adeke has alleged that the male MP, decades older than her, touched her breasts without her consent as she used a mirror during a trip abroad.
“A male colleague, who is much older than me, I think I shouldn’t say much but I think in 1990, he had already joined the bar, came and tapped my chest as I was looking through the mirror,” claimed Adeke during a Uganda Law Society (ULS) event in Kampala on March 08.
“He came and held my breast like this….and I was so shocked.”
Adeke further claimed colleagues cheered the male MP who assaulted her.
“I looked around and all the men there, said ‘yah…yah, so what!’ she added.
Adeke, a former Makerere University guild president, also thanked Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga for inspiring women to speak out on such issues.
“I am just saying the House is so much patriarchal but we thank you madam Speaker because you have given us a platform to air out the issues that people think should not be talked about,” Adeke praised Kadaga.
But the speaker chose not to broach Adeke’s sexual harassment claims.
