Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has explained how O-Level candidates, schools, parents and guardians can access their 2020 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations results.
Uneb officials and education minister Janet Museveni are set to release the results starting midday July 30. (See: UCE Results Out Today; See Release Program)
A total of 333,889 candidates registered for end of secondary level (O-Level) UCE examinations. The majority of the candidates are female (50.1) per cent while the test (49.8) are males.
A total of 148,135 candidates were funded by government under the Universal Secondary Education (USE) program while 185,754 candidates registered as Non-USE candidates.
Some 47 candidates registered from Upper Prison Inmates Secondary School, Luzira.
According to the assessment body’s spokesperson Jennifer Kalule, school administrators can download the results.
The candidates, parents and guardians have been advised to use the SMS option to access their results.
On collection of results slips, Kalule made it clear no hard copies would be available.
“Heads of UCE Examination Centers will download the results from their portals as soon as they are released. No hard copy result slips will be issued from UNEB offices untill conditions are more favourable,” said the Uneb publicist.
“Candidates, their parents & any other person wishing to access results may do so through their mobile Phones. Simply go to the Message Menu & type *UCE*, leave space, type the correct index No.of the candidate e.g. **U0000/001**send to **6600** on the MTN & Airtel networks.”
Meanwhile, Uneb had warned schools and parents against “gathering the candidates in the school premises or anywhere else for any form of celebration of the results as such gatherings are not permitted under the Covid19 SOPs.”
