Stingy Men Association members in Kampala and across the country can not stop celebrating following an announcement by the Central Bank banning the use of currency notes for decorations and gifts.

In a November, 22 notice issued by the Central Banking Institution, florists, designers and events managers are warned against using the national currency for purposes specified above saying such affects the usability of the notes.

The development comes at a time when it had become a trend for people of dip pockets to gift their loved ones flower banquets knitted with money in varying denominations, attracting envy from their lean pursed counterparts.

The announcement has since set Social media on fire with those with patched pockets hailing the government for working for the muntu wawansi through an intervention they suggest will go a long way in relieving them from the pressure induced by their unsympathetic partners.

A section of these jubilating indicates that indifferent vindicates usually put them on the sword to provide these extravagant gifts with high-end notes decorations in complete disregard of their not-so-lucky economic situation.

” Thank you, government of the poor. Who else paid for this miracle to happen like me? Hope my sisters are all around to see this for themselves.” reacted ‘Bosco de Unplanned Kid,” a user on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter.

Godfrey Mpanga hailed the government for efforts to save the under-pressure generation and appealed to the boy child to ensure the observation of the new directive.
