GO TO HELL: Kahinda Otafiire Breaks Silence on Reports of Supporting His ‘Soldier Son’ to Challenge Muhoozi Project

GO TO HELL: Kahinda Otafiire Breaks Silence on Reports of Supporting His ‘Soldier Son’ to Challenge Muhoozi Project

Internal affairs minister Maj Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire has spoken out on reports that he is backing his son, a soldier, to challenge President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s quest to replace his aged father who has ruled Uganda for nearly four decades.

Gen Muhoozi, a serving national UPDF officer, is now widely believed to be a frontrunner in his father’s succession queue. But some veterans of the five-year National Resistance Army (NRA) that propelled the son of Amos Kaguta to power in 1986 are opposed to the succession move.

Gen Otafiire, a serving MP, Minister and bush war veteran, previously urged Ugandans to ignore the standby generator (in reference to Gen Muhoozi) since there was still stable supply of electricity (in reference to Gen Museveni).

At the moment, it is not clear if Museveni will seek another five-year term in 2026 to extend his rule beyond 40 years or if he will formally back his 49-year-old son to succeed him. Both sides, Muhoozi’s and Museveni’s are strategizing for possible 2026 presidential election runs. If both agree on a succession plan, one is likely to shelve one’s 2026 ambition for the other.

Meanwhile, some people have been thinking of which NRA veterans’ children qualify to be president besides Gen Muhoozi. One social media user chose Che Otafiire, a soldier son of Maj Otafiire.

This person even sought to put words in Otafiire Sr’s mouth to make it appear that the veteran said he had not risked his life in the bush only for Museveni to back his son to become president and lead him. The social media user also claimed that Otafiire had said that his son also had capacity to lead and that he is “over qualified and well trained than this genetically modified General.”

Now, Otafiire has come out to punch holes in these words that someone had attempted to put in his mouth, telling the social media troll to go to hell. The internal affairs minister also warned against cheap politics and unintelligent lies.

“You and your ‘friends’ with your cheap politics, can go to hell and stay there. Where and when did I say that? Next time tell intelligent lies. Stop this BU[LSH!T !” Otafiire fired back.

It should be remembered that Otafiire’s son has also spoken out on his rumored 2026 presidential ambition, making clear his position on his reported plan to knock out Muhoozi. (See Details Here).

Meanwhile, Museveni recently appeared to ‘endorse’ his son’s MK Movement ahead of 2026 presidential election. (Read Story Here).
