SAD NEWS: Tears as Galaxy FM Boss Perishes in Road Accident

Staff at Galaxy FM in Kansanga, Kampala, are in mourning the death of one of their directors and station co-director and chairman Pius Kamugisha after the businessman perished in a road accident. 

Entebbe expressway accident happened after a Benz that the wealthy Kamugisha was driving collided with  a Toyota Hilux. The accident has been blamed on over speeding, according to a preliminary police report.

“The territorial traffic police at Kajjansi have registered a fatal accident at Nakigala along the Entebbe Kampala Express highway. The accident happened on the 22.10.2022 at around 2200/C,” said Faridah Nampiima, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Uganda Police Force (UPF) Traffic Directorate.

“The accident involved motor vehicle registration number UG 0382D (Toyota Hilux) that was being driven by LT Col Byaruhabga Ephraim *I.O* *1st* *Div* *Kakiri* and motor vehicle registration number UBK 320P Benz black driven by Kamugisha Pius the C.E O of Galaxy FM.”

Born on November 11, 1974, Kamugisha passed on on Saturday October 22, 2022. He was aged 48. The Galaxy FM boss died in an accident on the Busega-Kajjansi Highway. The station and family was yet to issue a funeral program.

“Management regrets to announce the untimely death of our Co-Director and Chairman, Mr Pius Kamugisha, that occurred on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Pius died in a motor accident along the Busega-Kajjansi Highway,” said Galaxy FM in a death announcement issue Sunday, October 23 morning.

“Updates on vigil and burial arrangements shall be shared in due course. We commiserate together with his entire family and friends. May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.”
