Makerere University and its affiliate college of Makerere University Business School (Mubs) have released the list of students who have been admitted on private sponsorship for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The list of privately sponsored students was released by the Office of the Academic Registrar of Makerere University, whose boss is Namoah Masikye, the Academic Registrar.
The list includes students who sat their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) in 2020, 2019, 2019 and academic years before then.
Only a few who sat A-levels in 2021 elsewhere outside Uganda or under other systems have been considered for admission after their qualification were equated to the Ugandan system.
With no students from the Ugandan system since Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) did not conduct examinations for candidates who would have formed the 2021 lot that would have been admitted for this academic year.
About 2,000 in number, the admitted students will begin their students next month when the new academic year (2022-2023) officially begins.
