Nearly 1900 teachers (education and assistant education officers) have been confirmed to Uganda’s public service and their names included on the government payroll, the Education Service Commission (ESC) has announced.
The list also includes confirmed head teachers and deputy head teachers.
Also confirmed were library assistants, laboratory assistants, enrolled nurses, senior assistant accountants, and stenographer secretaries.
“The Secretary, Education Service Commission informs Teaching and Non-teaching personnel whose names appear in the lists below that they have been CONFIRMED IN SERVICE. The concerned personnel are requested to contact the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports for issuance of relevant letters,” wrote Mohammed Kaaya, the Education Service Commission (ESC) acting secretary.

It should be remembered that last year, Education Service Commission bosses were accused of selling each teacher job for Shs2m. (See Details Here).
