Commander in Chief of armed forces Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has promoted Brig Gen Kayanja Muhanga and 39 others in promotions announced Saturday.
The list includes seven brigadier generals promoted to the rank of major general.
These seven include Brig Muhanga, the former second division commander who is currently in charge of coordinating security operations in the country.
Others are David Kyomukama Kasura, David Wakaalo, Michael Ondoga, Francis Takirwa, Dick Olum Prit and Octavius Butuuro.
UPDF spokesperson Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso confirmed the promotions.
