Bobi Wine saluted those who have been doing NUP work in the diaspora even when there was no substantive leadership in place. He also revealed he would soon lead efforts to reinvigorate NUP chapters scattered across the globe.
“After several months without a substantive leadership in the Diaspora, I am pleased to announce our Diaspora Leadership Council for the next year. We’re grateful to all comrades in the Diaspora who have continued to organise, mobilise, protest and knock on doors,” said Bobi Wine as he released the list of new leaders.
“I am hoping and trusting that this leadership will bolster all these ongoing efforts as we continue to advance the struggle for freedom and democracy. In the coming weeks, we’ll work together with these leaders to firm up our leadership structures in chapters across the world.”
Sombi Ibrahim Omondi will be the NUP leader for Africa, Daniel Kawuma will lead USA, Susan N Kimaswa will lead Europe, Brenda Nakato Canada, Peter Ekakoru UK, Isaac Kasirye Australia while Patricia Mugisha will lead the Middle East which includes countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
