Frank Gashumba, Balaam Eat Big as Muhoozi’s MK Army Elects 2026 Campaign Team

MK Army, a group linked to the Ugandan first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has elected its leaders who will mobilize for support and campaign for President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s only male child to succeed him as the country fountain of honor in the 2026 presidential election.

Gen Muhoozi has expressed interest in becoming Uganda’s president to replace his father Gen Museveni who has ruled the impoverished East African nation since 1986 when he took power following a five-year war that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives in the Luweero Triangle districts. By the end of his current five-year term, Museveni will have ruled Uganda for a cool four decades in a row.

Gen Museveni celebrated his 78th birthday in September 2022. He will be 82 years old when the country goes to the next election. It is not clear if Gen Museveni will stand for reelection to extend his rule for another five years at the end of which he will be 87 years old.

But according to his former media strategist Andrew Mwenda, Museveni will be on the ballot paper in 2026 — and even 2031 — as long as he is not dead. And there are already pointers that Museveni could be on the ballot paper in 2026. A group of cabinet ministers led by his Vice President Jessica Alupo has endorsed him as their candidate for the next presidential election. Most recently, Museveni’s office also endorsed him as the sole candidate for the 2026 presidential candidate, telling him ‘Omalako Jajja, Tova Ku Main.’ (See Details Here and There).

But Muhoozi and his group have also been throwing hints at the first son’s potential 2026 presidential bid. In fact, Muhoozi himself made a shocking revelation on a plan to take over from his father Gen Museveni as president in 2026. (See Details Here).

And on Friday, the first son’s camp elected Muhoozi’s campaign team at an event held in Kampala. The team includes Sisimuka Uganda Executive Director and Abavandimwe (Banyarwanda) leader in Uganda Frank Gashumba, the motor-mouthed socio-political commentator. Frank Gashumba is the new MK Army Director of Media and Communications. Igara East MP Michael Mawanda Maranga is the MK Army Chairman.

Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga, who was previously arrested and detained by CMI for spying on Uganda for President Paul Kagame’s Rwandan government, was elected the Head of Tertiary institutions in the MK Army.

2026 OR 2031?

Gen Muhoozi has made it clear that he wants to be president. He recently said he wanted to take over from his father Gen Museveni so as to please his mother Janet Kataaha Museveni. This declaration raised concern about a previous report in which a now fired ISO boss warned Museveni that his son Gen Muhoozi and his mother Janet were planning to overthrow him. (See Details Here and There).

But there is still confusion on whether Museveni will retire in 2026 and allow his son Gen Muhoozi contest as the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate or if the 48-year-old Muhoozi will have to wait for 2031 or beyond. Months ago, Muhoozi hinted on his retirement from the national army in 2030, giving a clue to the likelihood of running for president in 2031. (Read Details Here).

Meanwhile, a popular prophet who accurately predicted Dr William Ruto’s election as Kenya’s president has revealed the man God has told him will be Uganda’s next president after Museveni. (Read Shocking Details HERE).
