Former Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda sends clearly pleasant message to successor Robinah Nabbanja, boss Museveni

Former Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has sent a clear message of good wishes to his successor Robinah Nabbanja and other ministers appointed to cabinet as well as a message of gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for appointing him special envoy.

Museveni replaced Rugunda with Kakumiro District Woman MP Nabbanja, according to a shocking cabinet list released June 08.

Rugunda had served for close to seven years having replaced Amama Mbabazi in 2014.

He will now become Museveni’s special envoy in the president’s office after serving in various ministerial positions in the NRM government.

He assured Museveni of his commitment to to transform the country.

“I thank HE Kaguta Museveni for the opportunity he gave me to serve Uganda as Prime Minister & for the new assignment as a Special Envoy. I remain committed to supporting HE the President and the NRM in the transformation of our country. Thank you all for the support.”

After congratulating new ministers on their appointments, and saluting outgoing ones on a job well done, ‘Ndugu’ Rugunda preached unity under Museveni’s headship.

“There is still work to do to realise a transformed Uganda and a secure and better Africa,” he said.

“This requires all of us to join hands, in order to achieve this goal, under the able leadership of HE President Kaguta Museveni.”
