Former Leader of Opposition Wafula Oguttu Wife Dead (See Details)

Former Leader of Opposition Wafula Oguttu is in tears after losing his wife. Alice Oguttu succumbed to cancer after battling the disease for years.

She was aged 61.

Oguttu’s wife had been admitted at Three Rivers Cancer Centre in Kampala where she was rushed after her health deteriorated.

According to Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), to which the former Bukooli Central MP belongs, said the body will be taken to the politician’s hope in Ntinda on June 25.

There will be a requiem service at St Luke Church of Uganda, Ntinda, on June 26.

“Sad News at FDC as Mrs Alice Oguttu, the beloved wife of Rt. Hon. Wafula Oguttu, former Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of Uganda and MP emeritus for Bukooli Central, Bugiri District, has passed away. This Sunday evening, the body of Mrs Alice Oguttu will be brought to their residence at Martyr’s Way, Ntinda, for a church service and overnight vigil,” said FDC in a statement.

“On Monday, a church service will be held at St. Luke C.O.U in Ntinda, followed by the departure of the funeral procession to Saanika village, located in Nankoma sub-county, Bugiri District. We extend our deepest condolences to Rt. Hon.Wafula Oguttu and his entire family during this onerous time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Uncle Wafu, as they mourn the loss of Mrs Alice Oguttu.”

Alice’s death comes just two years after Wafula Oguttu’s son died a month to his wedding, leaving his fiancée with a baby girl. (See Details Here).
