Weeks ago, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni fired Akullo as CID director. (Read story here).
She had served in that role since 2011, replacing Edward Ochom.
Akullo has since handed over office to her successor Maj Tom Magambo.
Shortly after Akullo gave way for Maj Magambo, it emerged that she will become the new head of Interpol Uganda.
