First son and Commander Land Forces (CLF) Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has warned Congolese rebels the UPDF Army is the fire that guards Uganda and whoever jokes around would be burnt.
On July 19, CLF Lt Gen Kainerugaba visited Uganda’s “valiant” troops in the West Nile District of Zombo “who successfully repulsed an attack last week from a Congolese rebel group called Codeco.”

Suspected Cooperation for the Development of Congo (Codeco) rebels raided the Zeu Detach early July 16 morning.

In the attack, one UPDF officer was killed. (See: Fresh Details emerge on Congolese Rebels Attack on UPDF Zeu Detach in which Ugandan Soldier was Killed).

The first son and CLF, who flew to Zombo, encouraged the UPDF officers and sent a clear warning to the Codeco rebels.

“I told them we are the fire that guards Uganda, whoever messes with the land of our ancestors will get burnt! Mungu yuko pamoja na sisi!” said Kainerugaba after the visit.
