First son and Commander Land Forces (CLF) Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has expressed readiness to go and flush out military leaders who recently dislodged President Alpha Conde in Guinea Conakry.
Weeks ago, special forces commandant Mamady Doumbouya detained Conde, who had recently won a presidential election.
Doumbouya and his forces have dissolved the Conde Government.
In an interview with France 24 last week, Museveni said the coup plotters should get out because they would take Guinea backwards.
Days after his father warned Col Doumbouya and his colleagues, the first son says he is ready to lead Ugandan troops to throw out the coup plotters.
According to CLF Muhoozi Kainerugaba, all he is waiting for are orders from Commander-in-chief of armed forces and his father President Museveni.
“If our Commander in Chief gave us instructions it wouldn’t take UPDF a day to discipline mutinous troops like the ones in Guinea-Conakry.”
In recent months, West Africa has been a hotbed of coups, with Mali and Chad being some of the affected countries.
