Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed that a fire outbreak happened at Police Garment Factory along Jinja Road on December 01.
Officers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services put out the fire.
No staff were injured or killed in the fire, said Owoyesigyire.
“The Fire Prevention and Rescue Services have today, 01.12.2021, at about 8pm responded to a fire outbreak that happened at the Police Garment Factory located along Jinja Road. The fire is believed to have started from one of the stores where tailored clothes and materials were kept,” said the deputy spokesperson in a statement.
All night shift staff were safely evacuated and no one was injured or died.Our fire fighers have extinguished the fire.Investigations have started to ascertain the cause of the fire. We will share more details as they come in.”
